At The SOAR Clinic, we want you to feel like family. We are dedicated to the White Mountain region and are excited to provide additional medical expertise to our community.
Joseph Eich, PA-C is a compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled Orthopedic provider. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Exercise Science, and a minor in Business Management. He then went to Physician Assistant (PA) school at A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ. He started his career as a PA on Active Duty for the US Navy. He worked in Primary Care for the first 3 years of his Navy career in North Carolina.
After 3 years of Primary Care, he applied for and was accepted into the Orthopedic fellowship for PA's at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth where he received an extra year of specialized training in Orthopedics. After completing the fellowship, he worked in Orthopedic surgery at Naval Health Clinic Lemoore, CA.
After a total of 6 years in the Navy, Joe returned to his hometown of Snowflake, AZ and worked in the Orthopedic department with Summit healthcare for almost 6 more years.
Joe is now proud to run his own non-surgical Orthopedic clinic in the hometown that he loves. When he isn't at work, you'll see him around town involved with the local High School sports, dance teams, rodeos, and heavily involved with everything his wonderful wife and 4 kids are involved with.
A PA-C (Certified Physician Assistant) is a healthcare professional, trained in the medical model of patient care. After completeing a Bachelor's degree, a PA attends an in-person, rigorous, 27 month long program to obtain a Master's degree in Physican Assistant Studies (MPAS). A PA then takes a certification test, which he is required to re-certify every 10 years. A PA is not a Doctor, and is not a Doctor in training. We pride ourselves in being attentive, caring, and taking our time with each of our patients. We are able to diagnose problems, order lab and imaging tests, and prescribe medications. Some of us get extra training (see the paragraph to the left for my story) and become extremely proficient in a specialty. The quality of care from a good PA is recognized as some of the best care you can receive in medicine.
